            Under the orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition(C) No.196 of 2001, the Government of India, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has constituted a Central Vigilance Committee under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Justice D.P. Wadhwa, a former Judge of the  Supreme Court of India, to look into the maladies which are affecting the proper functioning of the Public Distribution System and also suggest remedial measures.


2.         The Committee hereby invites members of the general public and organizations/interest groups/NGOs in NCT of Delhi, to share their views and suggestions on the problems affecting the Public Distribution System -  whether it is Fair Price Shops, Govt of NCT of Delhi, Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation, Food Corporation of India, Department of Food Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Government  of India or any other authority/body concerned with Public Distribution System – through:-

3.         Those persons who are desirous of personal hearing before the Committee are requested to kindly intimate to this effect for consideration of the Committee.


4.         The suggestions/representations, addressed to the Chairman or Secretary to the Committee, should reach the office of the Committee at 716, Mahabir Block, Asiad Village Complex (Khel Gaon) Siri Fort Road, New Delhi-110049   on or before 20th March, 2007.
